Paintings can be created on all kinds of mediums but rarely is the medium included in the actual painting as an integral part. Amy Sol’s work does just that along with a gentleness and childlike innocence that makes you keep coming back to look at the painting time after time.
These beauties might be wide-eyed bit it definitely isn’t from being innocent. With an obvious nod to anime Sas Christian, a London artist, creates some beautiful and sometimes haunting portraits of women. As she says:
likes to portrait in her oil paintings “weepy girls, punk, catholic, damaged but not broken girls, yet intelligent and independent.”
Ask any artist and they will tell that there are two things that are really hard to master when it comes to painting – clouds and water. To be able to do them in any realistic manner is a skill unto itself which these paintings by Eric Zeners fully attest to.
It is amazing how artists are able to take even the most mundane of items from our lives and turn it into truly unique art. This is exactly what Gregory Euclide has done with the ordinary paint can as you can see below.
